World Glaucoma Week 2025

Every celebration is a time for connection. This year, take a moment to care for your eye health, whether it’s through booking in your next eye test or by learning about glaucoma.

Let’s get people talking

World Glaucoma Week is running from 9 – 15 March. This will coincide with a number of holidays and festivals around the globe: Muslims’ observation of Ramadan (28 February – 30 March), Holi – the Hindu festival of colours, love, and spring – which is on the 14 March, and the Jewish holiday of Purim (13-14 March). It is also in close proximity to Easter in April.

In recognition of this, our World Glaucoma Week campaign will centre around the theme of celebration. Specifically, around prioritising eye health even in times of celebration, and also in using the opportunity of gatherings among family and loved ones to discuss glaucoma.

Colourful text surrounded by confetti reads: "In every celebration, make eye health a conversation."

Are you eligible for a free eye test?

Many people in the UK are eligible for a free NHS sight test, but they may not realise it. You could be one of them!

If glaucoma runs in your family, your risk of developing the condition is higher, which may make you eligible for free eye tests. Even if you don’t qualify, regular eye check-ups are still essential. Early detection can help protect your vision and prevent unnecessary sight loss.
