Dry eye disease is a common condition where your eyes do not make enough tears or your tears dry up too quickly. Signs and symptoms include sore, red, heavy and watering eyes. When your eyes are dry, a reflex reaction causes you to make more tears. That’s why it’s called dry eye even though your eyes may water a lot.
Up to 6 in 10 people with glaucoma also have dry eye disease. That’s because treatments for glaucoma can lead to dry eye disease.
