Professor Keith Barton raises £56,500 in his 10th challenge for Glaucoma UK

Keith and two fellow cyclists raising their bikes in celebration at the finish line.

On May Day Bank Holiday, Keith Barton overcame fatigue and mixed conditions to finish the ride in under 24 hours. He was not even deterred by a treacherous thunderstorm as he cycled to the finish line.

Cycling from London to Paris is a popular challenge for cyclists around the world. It is a journey of over 300km, passing through the picturesque countryside of southern England and northern France, before culminating in the romantic streets of Paris. However, completing this challenge in just 24 hours requires a level of endurance and determination that is not for the faint of heart.

He had set himself a fundraising target of £20,000 but amazingly on last count he had raised over £56,500. Bringing his grand total for the 10 challenges to over £135,000 he has raised for Glaucoma UK.

To support Keith, you can still donate to his JustGiving page.
